Protégé Program
The Atelier Protégé is an essential facet of Atelier. It is through the new talent of our industry that we grow and develop our new ideas, and at Atelier, we believe that it is up to us to nurture and coach that talent to success. The word, Prote'ge', means, "one under the care and protection of another." We take that to heart, by caring for the development of the education of our new generation, and protecting the culture that keeps us strong and deeply passionate about our craft.
This comprehensive, 18-month program develops incredible technical skills, strong customer service vision, and excellent product recommendation abilities. Atelier Protégés are licensed cosmetologists who start out assisting the Atelier artists during the week. Prote'ge's receive one focused training a week, offering a combination of organized hands-on and theory time with a certified Atelier coach, and Aveda certification classes. To graduate from the program, Protégés are guided through each technical module by demonstrating their technical skills with model clients through final exams. As they master each module the Protégé begins taking Atelier guest appointments to cut and color as a Prote'ge' Artist at Atelier. At the end of the program, the Protégés hard work is celebrated at a graduation ceremony, where they create their own hair and fashion show, and they are promoted to Atelier Intern Artist!

In addition to this extensive training program, the Protégés also receive the following benefits: discounts on retail products and hair and skin services, opportunities to participate in outside training programs, hourly pay rate, medical/dental/vision co-op and 401k.
We are always looking for models to receive excellent discounted services during our Monday classes. Models have a unique opportunity to watch and listen as our Prote'ge's learn the architecture of haircuts, and the art and science behind creating haircolor. If you are interested in being a model, please see our Class Calendar, and contact us at 408-244-4222 to make a model appointment. All models must be available for the entire appointment, which can range from 2-4 hours in length. Price varies depending on class subject. Your participation is essential for these passionate artists to hone their craft. We appreciate your commitment to this goal by being here for your class appointment. Model appointments are subject to a 24-hour cancellation policy.
